Borgo Grillo is an organically farmed vineyard in the hills above the Versilia coastline. The vines are Guyot-trained, pruned and harvested by hand, with no synthetic or chemical inputs. Nine varieties are planted across seven blocks—including Syrah, Merlot, Vermentino, Viognier, Sangiovese, Marselan, Ciliegiolo, Canaiolo, and Bonamico—each reflecting the diversity and vitality of the land.

Set on south- and southwest-facing slopes, the vineyard captures early light and full sun throughout the growing season. Cooling air from the sea and Apuan Alps circulates through the site and moderates summer heat, supporting balanced formation of the essential flavor compounds. Calcareous soils contribute freshness and structure, while wild herbs and native plants thrive among the vines, shaping a living, dynamic ecosystem easily seen to the eye. 

Borgo Grillo produces three wines per vintage—small-lot expressions of a single site. All are IGT Toscana, rooted in Tuscan heritage and forward-leaning in style. Each season, alongside our winemaker, we work from winter pruning through final bottling – producing limited allocations of Syrah, Vermentino and a 5 varietal rosso field blend sourced from across the vineyard blocks.
